It has been confirmed that Kiwi Poker and Prestige Poker, dual members of the iPoker Network, have been closed to new members. All visitors to the site are now being forwarded to CD Poker, an internet poker site under the same parent company, and also operating on the iPoker Network.

According to the close confirmation, existing members of Kiwi Poker and Prestige Poker will still be able to take part in the respective online pocker rooms through the current software, but the web site itself has been indefinitely closed, redirecting all visitors to CD Poker.

The parent company of these well established online poker rooms has revealed that it will instead focus on marketing its other distinguished operations, CD Poker, William Hill Poker and PokerRoomSchool.

Last week, when concerned visitors to Kiwi Poker found themselves detoured to CD Poker, the response from the online poker room’s customer support was, “Please be informed that Kiwi Poker is related to CD Poker. That’s why whenever you try to download Kiwi Poker, you’re being redirected to CD Poker. This is just temporary, rest assured we are trying our best to work on this problem.”

It was only a few days later that the official release was handed down, announcing the closure of Kiwi Poker and Prestige Poker. When existing members of either online poker room run the software, they are offered an option to download CD Poker via a small logo in the corner of the poker client, but it is only an option, not a requirement. Online poker fans may still continue to play at these online poker rooms, provided they already have the software installed.

CD Poker seems to be well equipped to handle the potential influx of player traffic, not just in the hardware and software department, but through encouraging promotions. First and foremost is the Welcome Bonus, where new members can pad their bankroll with 100% up to $300 on their first deposit.

CD Poker is holding a Rake Race that will award thousands of dollars to the top 300 players on the leaderboard when April comes to a close. Six-digit figures are doled out to all participants in each millionth hand played at CD Poker, and on March 8th, all members of the iPoker Network will be co-hosting a $2.5 million guarantee poker tourney that is sure to delight online poker fans round the world.
